I. Introduction to the Endocrine System (p. 378)

Your introduction Endocrine System includes a case study where you will meet Nascha, who recently started feeling tired and thirsty and needs to get up 2 or 3 times at night to go to the bathroom. She is going to the clinic to be checked out. At the end of the lesson, we will return to the case study, where you will identify medical terms used to document and describe her experiences.

Read the case study, objectives, and introduction to the endocrine system. (pp. 379,279)

ll. Objective 1: Build, translate, pronounce, and spell medical terms built from word parts. (Textbook pp. 380-386)

You will learn word parts related to the endocrine system and the terms built from them. You may be familiar with terms relating to the thyroid gland, such as thyroidectomy, which means surgical removal of the thyroid gland.

Read the content and complete the Exercises. (pp. 380-386)
