Lesson 6: Reproductive Systems (Textbook p. 159)

The need for fluency in medical language cannot be exaggerated.

The reproductive system is a collection of female and male internal and external organs that work together for the purpose of recreating.

In The Lesson

Both female and male reproductive systems are covered in Lesson 6. Anatomic structures, functions, and how the systems work are explored.

Fun Fact

Fallopian tubes were named in honor of Gabriele Fallopius (1523-1563). He was a famous Italian anatomist who described ovaries, the round ligaments, and oviducts, renamed in his honor. Today you may see fallopian spelled with an upper or lower case ‘f’; the tubes are often referred to as uterine tubes.
